Raven Burns is entering her second season as an assistant coach for the Rockford University Volleyball Program. Burns brings with her significant collegiate playing experience along with a solid knowledge base of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
Burns joined the RU Coaching Staff after playing four years at fellow NACC school, Concordia University Chicago. During her time as a Cougar, Burns played in 86 matches and was voted team captain for both her junior and senior seasons. Her best season came during her junior year when she led the team with 42 blocks and ranked fourth with 86 kills.
In addition to her playing experience, Burns has also spent the last few years coaching at both the club and YMCA level. As a club coach, Burns worked with children ages 13-16 at Triple Ace Volleyball Club. Some of her coaching duties there included: creating and implementing practice plans, communicating expectations, teaching technique and training players.
Burns graduated from Concordia University Chicago with a bachelor's degree in Sport and Fitness and is now working towards her MBA at Rockford University.
