LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Rockford University women's volleyball program has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with its Team Academic Award for excellence in the classroom during the entire 2018-19 academic year. This marks the first time the Regents have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award in its 27-year history. Rockford was also one of 175 NCAA Division III women's volleyball programs and one of only eight NACC schools to receive the honor this year.
The Team Academic Award is given out annually by the American Volleyball Coaches Association to celebrate excellence in the classroom over an entire academic year. Team recipients must maintain a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average, and the head coach must be an AVCA member.
