WINNECONNE, Wis. - The Rockford University cross country teams concluded their seasons on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional. The NCAA Division III Midwest Regional is one of the most competitive and difficult regionals in the entire country, as it features multiple ranked teams, including both defending National Champions, North Central College (Men's) and Washington University in St. Louis (Women's). The men's 8k race featured 252 runners, while the women's 6k race had 272 participants. Although the Regents did not have enough participants to record a team score, three of the four runners set new personal records by a wide margin.
Women's Race - 6k
- Kellie Frerichs was the first Regent to cross the finish line, with a time of 29:46.0.
- Annabelle Stefanic set a new personal best by nearly 50 seconds in the 6k, with a time of 30:56.6.
- Maddy Pearson set a new personal best by almost a minute and a half, as she crossed the finish line in 32:53.0.
Men's Race - 8k
- Antoine Callebaut also set a new personal best on Saturday. Callebaut finished the 8k race in 30:06.9, which was over a minute faster than his previous best time.
