The Rockford University Athletic Department is pleased to announce that it will be holding its annual Golf Playday on Monday, August 6, 2018. The event will once again take place at Timber Pointe Golf Club in Poplar Grove, Ill. with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start in a best ball scramble format.
The Rockford University women's volleyball program is pleased to announce it will be hosting an alumni scrimmage on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the Seaver Center. The match will begin at 2 PM and will conclude at 4 PM.
The Rockford University volleyball team returned to the court one final time on Tuesday, October 31 to host the Beloit College Buccaneers (9-16). Tuesday's match was originally scheduled for September 26 but was suspended at 1-1 with Beloit leading 6-1 in the third set when a light crashed on the court. The match was tight throughout and could have gone either way as three of the four sets were decided by three points or less. Unfortunately it was the Bucs who came out on top with a 3-1 win.
The Rockford University women's volleyball team fell in straight sets on the road Thursday night to the Maranatha Baptist University Sabercats (16-14). Although Rockford was unable to win a set, the Regents played the Sabercats tough.
The Rockford University volleyball team took to the court Tuesday night, as they hosted Edgewood College. The Eagles came out soaring and did not look back. RU managed to have some fight left in them as they made it a close third set, but they could not prevail. Rockford dropped three straight sets losing 25-11, 25-15, and 25-23.
The Rockford University volleyball team took to the court Saturday afternoon as well as to honor its lone senior, Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.). Unfortunately for the Regents they were not able to come up with a win. Lakeland won in three straight sets with score of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-19.
The RU volleyball team played host to Marian University on Friday night. The final score of the match would not reveal how close of a contest this would turn out to be. The Regents played well as they were in almost every set, until the Sabres would pull away at the end. Rockford would force four sets but were not able to force a fifth. The Regents would lose the first set 25-19. RU would show its resiliency as they answered right back to take the second set 25-20. The Sabres would come back strong as they won the third set by a score of 25-12. The Regents attempted to force a fifth set but fell short as Marian took the final set 25-18.
