ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Regents volleyball team returned to the court Wednesday night as they took on the Dominican University Stars. Unfortunately, RU could not come away with the win, despite its best efforts. Rockford fell to Dominican in three straight sets, losing 25-17, 25-18, and 25-11.
The score would not indicate the effort put forth by Rockford. The Regents would play the Stars back-and-forth during each set, before DU would pull away at the end. Rockford's attack was led by Maddison Hiland (Bellevue, Iowa) and Jessica Diaz (Bolingbrook, Ill.) who recorded 14 of the teams 25 kills. Hiland recorded 8, while Diaz contributed with 6 of her own. Kayla Barthels (Fort Worth, Tex.) once again facilitated the Regent attack, as she recorded 18 assists. On the defensive side of the ball, August Guest (Lahaina, Hawaii) led the way with 10 digs.
The Rockford University volleyball teams returns to action at home against Concordia Chicago on Friday, September 29. The match is scheduled to start at 7 PM.
