ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The RU women's volleyball team concluded its season on Saturday with a pair of matches at the Augustana Pumpkin Bash. The Regents began their day at 2 PM against Simpson College before wrapping up their season at 4 PM against Augustana College. Unfortunately it was another tough day against a pair of quality opponents, as the Regents were swept in straight sets in both matches.

Fellow senior Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill.) led the Regents with 12 assists, 5 digs, 1 block assist and 1 kill. Kayla Barthels (Fort Worth, Tex.) and Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) each tallied 4 kills with 5 and 7 digs respectively.
Despite struggling in the first two sets of match against Augustana, Rockford continued to fight and may very well have played its best set of the season in its final set of the year. The Regents led for much of the third set against a very good Augustana team who entered the match with an overall record of 24-8. The ladies held a 23-20 advantage in the closing moments before Augustana scored the final 5 points to win the set and the match.
