Volleyball Drops Two Matches at the Augustana Pumpkin Bash

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team lost both of its opening matches on Friday at the Augustana Pumpkin Bash. In Rockford's first match of the day, the Regents fell 25-15, 25-9 and 25-16 to the University of Dubuque. Rockford then lost its nightcap 25-16, 25-13, and 25-13, to Coe College.

The trio of Liberty Hartman (Freeport, Ill.), Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) and Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill.) led the charge in Rockford's match against Dubuque. Hartman had a solid all-around match with 6 kills, 8 digs, 4 assists and 1 block assist. Storey led the Regents with 7 kills, a team-high 16 digs and 1 assist. Rossi finished with a team-high 15 assists, 5 digs, 2 service aces, 3 kills and 0 attack errors. 

In Rockford's second match of the day, the Regents were led by the trio of Alex Storey, Amanda Korte (Davis, Ill.) and Taylor Rossi. Storey led the Rockford attack with 7 kills and 6 digs. Korte finished the match with 5 kills, 2 digs and 1 service ace. Senior Taylor Rossi tallied 17 digs, 9 assists and 3 service aces. 

The Regents will conclude their season on Saturday, October 29 with two more matches at the Augustana Pumpkin Bash. Rockford begins the day against Simpson at 2 PM before closing with host Augustana at 4 PM.
