ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University volleyball team returned to action tonight to take on Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference matchup. Tonight marked Senior Night for three Regent seniors. Liberty Hartman (Freeport, Ill.), Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill.) and Amanda Korte (Davis, Ill.) all played significant roles while in a Regent uniform on the season and for their careers. Rockford had a tough challenge facing Concordia who was undefeated in NACC play and in first-place. The Regents fell in straight sets to the Falcons by the finals of 25-14, 25-10 and 25-17.
In all three sets Rockford did an outstanding job of limiting Concordia's attacks with exceptional digs amassing 46 for the match. The Regents totaled 20 kills for the match. Unfortunately, Rockford was unable to slow down the Concordia attack enough as they fell in straight sets 3-0.
Leading the Regents on the night were Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) led the team with 7 kills. Taylor Rossi had a team-high 14 assists with 3 kills and 8 digs. She has been a four-year starter for Rockford and has led the team in assists all four years. Liberty Hartman has played two years in a Regent uniform and leads the team with kills on the season. Amanda Korte has played two years in a Rockford uniform and has had a huge impact in the middle of the team's defense.
The Rockford University volleyball team returns to action Tuesday, October 25 for their home finale at the Seaver Center to take on Maranatha Baptist University with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m.
