ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University volleyball team returned to action today to take on the University of Dubuque. The Regents were unable to defeat the Spartans falling in straight sets, 3-0, by the finals of 25-14, 25-15, and 25-9.
In the first two sets Rockford was able to match up well with Dubuque in the game's opening points, 10-10 and 13-11. However, the Regents faltered down the stretch of each game. The Spartans finished strong in each game scoring the final 12 out of 13 points in the first set, and 15 out of the final 20 points in the second set. In the third set, Rockford could not match Dubuque's intenstity falling behind immediately in the set.
Leading the Regents were freshman August Guest (Lahaina, Hawaii) with 5 kills. Senior Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill.) had 13 assists.
The Rockford University volleyball team returns to action Saturday, October 8 to take on Aurora University in Aurora, Ill. with a scheduled start time of 12 p.m.
