CHICAGO, Ill.- The Rockford University men's and women's track and field teams returned to action today at the Margaret Bradley Invite at the University of Chicago. The men's team finished in sixth place for the meet garnering 16 total points.
Katrina Kopfhamer (Portage, Wis.) broke her own school record in the weight throw by notching a throw of 11.33m to finish in 12th place overall. Jamie Buechner (Wauconda, Ill.) had her personal best in the 200m dash finishing in 28.19 seconds. Tracy Wang (Rockford, Ill.) added her personal best time in the mile.
For the men, Nathan Alldritt (Winnebago, Ill.) achieved his personal best time of 7.39 seconds in the 60m dash. He also had a personal best in the Pole Vault at 3.96m good for sixth place overall. Justin Christiansen (Rockford, Ill.) finished in second place overall and his personal best in the high jump at 1.84m. Jared Johnson (Miami, Fla.) achieved his personal best in the shot put at 12.00m good for ninth place overall.
Christian Devant (Winnebago, Ill.) recorded his personal best in the one mile run with a time of 4:50.98. Cristan Newton (Shreveport, La.) notched his personal best time in the 3000m run crossing the line in 10:27.68. Kyle Roewer (Belvidere, Ill.) also had his personal best time of 11:04.55 in the 3000m run.
The RU track and field teams will return to competition on Saturday, February 25 in the NACC Indoor Championships at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
