Seven Regents Named Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - This week the Rockford University softball team had seven of its players honored for their academic prowess last year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. McCathran Andrew (Rockford, Ill.), Emily Johannes (Eau Claire, Wis.), Linzy Keller (Rockford, Ill.), Taylor Pilarczyk (Chicago, Ill.), Sammi Russell (Winnebago, Ill.), Gretchen Schrubbe (Elgin, Ill.) and Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) were all tabbed Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes. In order to receive the distinction, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the 2017-18 academic year. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association honors student-athletes across all the Association's membership categories. This past year there were a total of 6,280 softball players recognized, with NCAA Division III leading the way at 1,600.
