FOND DU LAC, Wis.- The Rockford University softball team returned to action after being postponed yesterday due to unplayable field conditions. The Regents faced the Sabres of Marian University. Unfortunately, Rockford was unable to muster much offense on the day falling by the finals of 8-0 in both games.
The Regents were unable to put any runs on the board the entire day, totaling only six hits. Their best scoring opportunity came in game two when Lisa Blakeley-Snyder (Winnebago, Ill.) hit a single to move Stefaney Kenworthy (Veedersburg, Ind.) into scoring position with only one out in the inning. Ultimately, the Regents were unable to capitalize leaving both runners on base.
Leading the Regents offensively was Shannon LeGath (Sturtevant, Wis.) collecting a multi-hit performance, with two of the team's six hits.
The RU softball team returns to action Monday, April 3 to take on Wisconsin Lutheran College at the Smith Athletic Field with a scheduled start time of 3 p.m.
