EUREKA, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team lost a hard-fought match 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon to the Eureka College Red Devils. Rockford put pressure on the Eureka defense the entire afternoon as the Regents held a 17-10 advantage in shots including a 6-5 edge in shots on goal. However, unfortunately the Regents were unable to find the back of the net and were shut out for the first time this season. The only goal of the match came in the 31st minute from Eureka's James Bowen.

Rockford's Todd Alberts (Davenport, Iowa), Erik Manriquez (Rockford, Ill.) and Jonathan Hernandez (Chicago, Ill.) led the team with 3 shots each. Alberts also recorded a team-high 2 shots on goal.

Rockford goaltender Anthony Beck (Fishers, Ind.) played the full 90 minutes making 4 saves. He is currently tied for third in the NACC with 19 saves.

The RU men's soccer team returns to the field on Saturday, September 17 at home against Lakeland University. The match has a scheduled start time of 1:00 PM and will be played at Wedgbury Stadium at Sportscore 2.
