KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Rockford University men's basketball team had five individuals honored today by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for their academic excellence. Trae Blumhorst (Mendota, Ill.), Ryan Fiorucci (Machesney Park, Ill.), Zach Wallace (Rockford, Ill.), Arthell Rosquist (Zion, Ill.) and Jacob Siewert (Streamwood, Ill.) were each named to the 2016-17 NABC Honors Court. This marks the third straight year Blumhorst and the second straight year Fiorucci have received individual recognition from the NABC.
In order to be named to the NABC Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically, a varsity player, have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the end of the 2016-17 academic year, spent at least one year at their current institution and participate at an NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
