ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University baseball team had a pair of players receive all-conference recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Thursday morning. Sophomore pitcher Zachary Jones (Rockford, Ill.) and senior shortstop Austin Smith (Peru, Ill.) were both voted Second Team all NACC. This marks the first time either has received NACC postseason honors.

Smith hit out of the cleanup spot in the lineup the entire year and was a key component to the Rockford offense. He finished the 2018 season at or near the top of every major hitting category for the Regents and was in the top-6 in the NACC in five categories. At the end of the regular season, Smith is tied for fourth in RBIs (33), fifth in runs scored (34), and tied for sixth in hits (51), doubles (12) and at bats (152).
