Rockford University Baseball Holds Fundraiser for Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University baseball team will hold its annual fundraiser this Sunday, April 19 at Aviators Stadium when the Regents host the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders. This year the Regents will be raising money for the Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Rockford, Ill. In addition to the baseball games, there will be numerous activities and events for everyone to participate in. Admission to the games is just $5 and all proceeds from the day will be donated directly to the Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary.

Sunday's slate of baseball action will be crucial for the Regents as they look to move up the conference standings in order to secure a spot in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament for the eighth time in the past nine seasons. The Regents and Raiders have met 24 prior times with Rockford currently leading the all-time series between the two schools 20-4, including a 13-1 mark since both teams joined the NACC.

On top of watching some exciting baseball action, there will also be multiple other activities for fans to participate in. A silent auction will be setup with lots of fun and exciting items for people to bid on along with a raffle. Rockford University will have radar gun set up on the concourse where fans are invited to step up and test their arm strength to see just how fast they can throw. Members from the Noah's Ark Sanctuary will also be in attendance with some of their animals for people to view. Just prior to the start of the game, a member of their staff will throw out the first pitch followed by the Rockford University Vocal Collective singing the National Anthem.

Noah's Ark is an animal sanctuary that provides a temporary safe haven for unwanted, stray, and abandoned dogs and cats. It was founded back in 1978 and has taken in over 20,000 animals since its inception. The organization receives no government funding and thus relies solely on support from those in the community. Noah's Ark is a no kill shelter with a dedicated staff and group of volunteers that work hard to ensure that each animal receives the best possible care while it is there.
